Yes it can.
You will need to ensure that the signing ID's document (ID used to sign Desktop Manager & Desktop Manager Start databases) is present in both Domino Directories. This ID should also be present in both Domain's Administration ECLs with the appropriate rights, and these entries should also be in synch with the users' local ECLs.
Naturally, you will also need to respect all the normal rules regarding to the presence of the necessary certificates/cross-certificates.
