How Desktop Manager can help you controling the appearance of "Shortcut Buttons" in the notes 9 client ?

The control of all "Shortcut Buttons" of Notes 9 is driven by Pref file located here :
<Data Folder>\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\com.ibm.rcp.ui.prefs

Each entry has a value (true = visible / false = not visible) in the PREFS file :

Calendar
Contacts
Home
Workspace
Discover
Thumbnails

are respectively :

100=true
101=true
102=true
com.ibm.workplace.noteswc.views.NotesHomepage=true
com.ibm.notes.client.workspaceshortcut=true
com.ibm.notes.client.discoverpageshortcut=true

You can change one value (for example display Home) using a Desktop Manager Task or Profile document, from the tab Notes Files / Prefs Files / Modify PREF File content :

PREF File Path : @NotesDataFolder\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\com.ibm.rcp.ui.prefs
Variable Name : com.ibm.workplace.noteswc.views.NotesHomepage
Value : true
Options : <LEFT EMPTY>
