The Archive Portal solution allows Notes databases exported in the form of static websites to be hosted on a Web server. Access to Notes databases is secure (identification of users and application of their associated rights inherited from the Domino platform) and dynamic (views are calculated based on what the user has the right to see).
The first step consists of using the AMF Extraction Station (NotesExtractor) to convert the Notes databases (Mail databases, Document Library, Team Room, Discussion, Quick'R, application databases, etc.) hosted on a Domino server into a set of directories (one per database) containing the Notes database data (Documents, Attached Files), its Design elements (Forms, Views, Navigator) and its access rights (ACL, Reader Fields). These directories will be placed on a hard drive accessible by the Windows server hosting the web server.
The second step consists of using the AMF Identity Station to extract the names of people and groups from the Domino directory in order to transfer them to the Directory.xml file. The Domino identities will be associated with the identities present in the Active Directory and exported to the Access.xml file. These files will be used to identify users and guarantee access security.
The last step is to install the machine hosting the Archive Portal solution :
- Installing a 64-bit Windows server
- Installing Apache Web Server 2.4.x
- Installing the Archive Portal application (CTGate.exe, CTServer.exe)
Once the solution is installed and configured, the user has access, using a Web browser, to the Notes databases hosted behind the Apache Web server. Access security is controlled by the Archive Portal executables (CTGate.exe and CTServer.exe) and the settings files (Access.xml and Directory.xml). User authentication is done through the Active Directory (NTML SSO is available).
